About the Truman Test Check-In System
The Truman Test Check-In System is the official digital sign-in platform for the Testing Center at Harry S Truman College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. It replaces the center's paper sign-in sheets and manual laptop logbooks with a fast, mobile-first experience that students can complete from their own phone in under a minute.
When a student arrives, the system walks them through selecting their exam, entering their information, and completing any required intake questions. It then automatically assigns a locker, records the check-in, and tracks the entire testing session from start to finish. Testing center staff use a live dashboard to monitor active sessions, watch exam deadlines, log incidents, manage locker availability, and export daily attendance records — all in one place.
What It Does
- Mobile student check-in with exam-specific instructions, surveys, and automatic locker assignment
- A live staff dashboard for monitoring sessions, deadlines, extended stays, and check-outs
- Attendance record keeping and daily summary reporting for the testing center team
Who It's For
The system serves students taking exams at the Truman Testing Center — including RTW English and ALEKS math placement, CLEP, GED/HiSET practice and official testing, the Illinois Constitution exam, language placement, ACTFL, and instructor-referred make-up tests — as well as the proctors and testing center staff who support them.
About This System — Data Scope Notice
This application stores testing attendance records only, including student name, student ID, phone, email, check-in and check-out times, locker assignments, exam type, and proctor notes.
No test scores, grades, or student academic records are stored in this system. Score lookup results shown to students are pulled from external placement rule tables and are not persisted as part of any student's academic record.
